In recognition of their platinum selling third album 'Echolalia',
Melbourne trio Something for Kate has been nominated for six awards at
the forthcoming 15th Annual ARIA Music Awards.
At Tuesday's pre-awards nominations ceremony held in Sydney, Something for Kate were nominated for Album Of The Year, Best Alternative Release, Best Group and Record Of The Year, along with bassist Stephanie Ashworth for Best Cover Art - Echolalia, and long-time collaborator Bart Borghesi for Best Video - Monsters. This is fitting recognition for the greatest Australian artist success story of 2001. While the album Echolalia makes its mark in the ARIA Charts, its two singles - 'Monsters' and the current top 40 hit 'Three Dimensions' - have been embraced by the full gamut of radio networks across the nation. After two sell-out headline tours this year, Something for Kate will be treading the boards for a third time, joining good friends Powderfinger on their "New Suburban Fables" tour in October and November. The ARIA Awards will be staged at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney on October 3rd. |
